If you are worried about rain on the big day, fret not! The summer months (June through August) are when Vancouver is at its driest! Here are a few tips to help you plan your outdoor Vancouver wedding.

Consider Choosing Your Wedding Theme

Choosing a theme for your wedding is very important. Much of what you choose for your wedding, such as linens, menus, and invitations, will depend on your chosen theme.

For example, if you are looking to plan an intimate rustic wedding, choose invitations that feature greenery. Furthermore, a heritage mansion or a botanical garden are viable options for couples looking to have a more formal affair. Once you decide your theme, all other aspects related to your wedding will fall into place.

Consider the Extra Costs

Depending on your location, you may need to rent items. If your location does not already have a designated ceremony site, you may need to rent a tent or canopy for the ceremony. Keep in mind that rental companies may charge extra fees when transporting items to a remote site.

Staying on task and on budget is important. Also, contact the rental companies if you have any questions regarding fees or other notable contract items.

Selected Your Date? Consider the Weather

Vancouver is dry and warm during the summer months, but there is still a chance for rain. Be sure to have a contingency or an alternate location for the ceremony in case it rains on your wedding day (thought rain is a sign of good luck).

Along with possible rainshowers, Vancouver gets very hot in July and August. If you ceremony is in a place where there is no cover (such as shade from trees), considering offer guests paper fans or even renting a large tent for the big day.
